mft january vault release

MFT has rescued some of their fabulous classic stamps & dies from the retirement vault and they are available in the shop NOW!

I know you can't wait to check it out but before you run off to shop, I've got a card to share with you...

I love a stitched background so I used the rectangle from the Blueprints 25 to die cut a white panel and adhered it to a folded card.

I paired the stems from Fresh Cut Flowers set with the hearts from the Mason Jar set.

I like to die cut everything from white cardstock and then color with Copic markers. I used R37, R35, YG11 & G00.

I finished the super simple design with a little faux black splatter (with a pen).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure you head over to the MFT shop to snap up all the vault goodies!!!

one day left until the mft january vault release

Have you heard the news that MFT Stamps is opening their vault to release some of their most loved retired stamps & dies?

The vault stamps and dies are so fun! Here's a little peek...

For this card I used the X's And O's Background. I stamped and embossed it on smooth watercolor cardstock. Then I did some easy watercoloring with Distress Inks.

The rainbow-y background made the perfect canvas for the adorable label strips made with the classic Label Maker Love & Label Tape. I forgot how much I loved the look of little label tapes!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have time, over to the MFT blog to see more of what is coming tomorrow!

something sweet is coming from mft

Don't you hate it when you see an adorable card design that you have to make but the stamps & dies for it are retired?! Me too! But I have good news...MFT Stamps is opening the "vault" to bring some of their most sought-after classic out of retirement!

Today I've got a little peek at what will be available on the 31st...

I can't resist a cute citrus slice so when I saw the Mason Jar Mug die set, I was delighted!

As I often do, I cut a bunch from white cardstock and then colored the background layers with Copic markers. I used YG01, Y02, R22, R20 and YR01.

I loved them so much that I tried to fit as many as possible on my card front by creating a grid. If you look closely, it probably isn't super symmetrical but it was sure fun to make!

In the bottom right corner I stamped a sentiment from the Mason Jar Labels set in black and then added a little faux black splatter with a pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have time, over to the MFT blog to see more of what is coming on Tuesday!

mft color challenge 204

Are you looking for a little creative jumpstart for your cardmaking? I highly suggest joining in on a cardmaking challenge and there just happens to be a new color challenge starting on the MFT stamps blog today *wink*

I have been struggling to find my crafty mojo lately so joining in MFT's fun challenges has really helped!

Here's the color palette for this challenge...

And here's the card I made...

I knew I wanted to stamp the gorgeous blooms from Gathered With Love in the Gravel Gray so I decided to pair them with a negative die cut "hello" using my favorite Modern Serif Alphabet

Then I added the little "I Love You, My Friend" from the Itty Bitty Love Notes set underneath.

I made my folded card from smooth watercolor cardstock because it is my favorite for soft ink blending and then I blended the rest of the colors where they would show under the "hello".
I hope you are inspired to join in this color challenge! Pop over to the MFT blog to learn more and thanks so much for stopping by!

mft sketch challenge 629

I am so happy there is a new sketch challenge starting today on the MFT Stamps blog because I've been in desperate need of a creative jumpstart and the sketches always work!

Here's this week's sketch...

And here's the card I created...

I started with a piece of Princess Pink cardstock and used low-tack tape to mask & ink blend stripes. And holy cow, why am I not using colored cardstock more for ink blending?! The ink went out so smoothly and it looked so good that I would have been happy even without adding anything else to the card!

I used the heart lid from the Box of Chocolates and the heart & the circle from Love Icons set to create the windows in the striped panel. And then the hearts from the Love Icons to fill the windows...one coral, one flamingo and one silver glitter.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Love set and is embossed with white powder.

A few sequins and ta-da!

I hope you are inspired to join this week's MFT sketch challenge! You can find all the info HERE on their blog.

Hugs!

valentine's chocolate shaker card with mft

The adorable January release hits the MFT shop today! Have you seen all the cuteness?! I can't pick a favorite!!! Before you run off to shop, I've got a quick shaker card to share...

I love the new Box of Chocolates die set and I thought the chocolate would make fabulous shaker bits so I die cut a bunch from white cardstock and colored the chocolate layers with Copic markers.

I used the A Very Big Hi die to make the shaker window and finished the sentiment with the "Happy Valentine's Day" from the Itty Bitty Love stamp set.

Make sure to pop over to the MFT blog to see more of the new release!

mft stamps january release countdown day 1

Just one more sleep until the MFT January release and today I've got a sassy & silly card to show you!

We Make A Great Combo is the cutest set of food and puns! I couldn't resist combining it with one of my favorite alphabet die sets, Essential Alphabet, to make this card.

I started with a kraft card, masked a stripe at the bottom and then blended Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade. I love stripes of color as design elements but they also help me line up die cut letters ;)

mft stamps january release countdown day 2

The MFT January stamps & dies hit the MFT shop in just two days and I'm so excited that another tall word die is being released!

Tall Hello and Tall Cheers are already some of my favorites but the new Tall Love is extra fantastic!!! I just love making shaker windows with these tall words!

mft stamps january release countdown day 3

We're halfway to the MFT January release and I made my first shaker card in weeks! I was having withdrawals...LOL!

I'm not trying to whine because I'm so happy in my new house, but my craft room is still 90% boxes. And when I saw the Love Icons die set I knew I needed to make a shaker card! I couldn't find any acetate, foam tape or sequins (though I did eventually find those). So this card was all about what I could find.

I used a piece of craft room "trash" (just plastic stamp packaging) to complete the shaker window after die cutting the XO from a white panel.

On the front of the folded card I did a little ink blending and topped it with glitter paste. When that was dry, I sprinkled on a few confetti sequins and adhered the shaker window panel over it with double-sided tape. It doesn't shake as much without the foam tape but it still has a good shimmy! It's like a skinny shaker, LOL!

mft stamps january release countdown day 4

We're counting down the days until the MFT January release and today my card is extra sweet!

Paper cupcakes might not be quite as good as the real thing but they are darn cute! The Dessert On Display die set is full of really sweet sweets and I'm extra smitten with this little cupcake!

As I have a habit of doing, I cut all the cupcakes from white cardstock and then used Copic markers to color the pieces. I like using the white cardstock because it makes the cutting faster and simpler for me. Plus I always have tons of white cardstock on hand!

Normally I like to measure & use light pencil lines to create a grid of shapes but we just moved and I haven't found my ruler yet. LOL! So I eyeballed it instead and I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out!

counting down to the mft january 2023 release

The new year has been busy for my bunch because we moved to a new house! My new craft room is still mostly in boxes but I NEED to make stuff! So it's perfect timing that the new MFT January release is happening in 5 days and we're counting down!

I've been hoping for a gorgeous new floral set and this Gathered With Love set does not disappoint!!!

I find watercoloring to be one of the most relaxing cardmaking techniques in general but watercoloring the background around a beautiful image is the best! You really can't go wrong!

I stamped the bouquet in waterproof ink off the edges of a watercolor panel. Then I used my Distress Ink Abandoned Coral and Kitsch Flamingo reinkers as paint.

The tiny typed sentiment is from the Typewriter Sentiments: Friendship set. And we will definitely be talking more about that set later *wink*

Thanks for stopping by! You can find more peeks at the MFT January release on their blog!

Have a great day!
