mft what's cookin' card kit

The MFT Stamps What's Cookin' card kit just hit the shop and it's adorable!

Yesterday I shared a treat tag I made with the delightfully retro oven from the Under the Hood set (see that HERE) and today I made a birthday card!

I die cut mixers, spoons, bowls, whisks and a few more things all from white cardstock. I colored some with Distress Oxide inks and some with Copic markers.

Then I adhered them to a card front in an arch shape (I used a roll of tape as a guide), with a sentiment stamped at the bottom.

I highly recommend heading over to the MFT blog to see more of the gorgeous cards my teammates have made!

something fun is cookin' at mft

MFT stamps is cooking up something really fun for tomorrow, a new card kit! Want to see a little sneak peek?

Isn't that the cutest little oven?!! I had so much fun putting it together! I die cut it from Sno Cone cardstock and then inked the door & drawer with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina (I love this combo). I die cut the knobs & bits from silver cardstock.

Then I paired it with the What's Cookin'? stamps and the Frosted Alphabet. I used the base layer of the alphabet, colored it like a cookie and then added chocolate chips from the Milk and Cookies set.

The cookie in the oven is just a circle with more of the chocolate chip die cuts.

mft merry moose

Have you seen the cuteness of the MFT Merry Moose stamp set? It's completely adorable and perfect for winter!

I'm always short on birthday cards so it seemed like perfect sentiment from the set to start with.

I stamped, die cut and colored the little skiing moose.

I "borrowed" the snowy slope stamp from Yeti or Not set and stamped it on my card front. I love that even though the styles of the sets are different, I can still mix and match.

I left the snowy slope black & white because I love having a pop of color come from the critter. And then I stamped the sentiment under the slope.

mft warm winter hugs + distress ink watercolor

There's always something so beautiful & perfect about Stacey Yacula's designs and the Warm Winter Hugs set is no exception!

And since they are so amazing, I often feel intimidated. Where do I start? How should I color them? So they sit uninked on my desk and that's no good!

I finally decided to take a really simple technique and just go for it!

I stamped the penguin & turtle image in Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch and then swiped the ink pad on an acrylic block. I sprayed my block with a little clean water and used it as my palette to watercolor my critters.

I kept my painting really simple and just enjoyed it!

I stamped the pond but left a few parts uninked so there wouldn't be any harsh lines across my critters. And then painted it.

Finally I added a sentiment across the bottom and a few inky splatters.

mft snow happy

Have you seen the MFT Snow Happy set? It's so adorable!!!

I love snowmen and I had so much fun coloring some the other night that I had to make a slimline card to fit them all, LOL!

Three circle windows is my go-to slimline design so I die cut three circles from a 3.5x8.5 cardstock panel. On the card front I ink blended Salvaged Patina and Tumbled Glass and spread a little glitter glue over it.

I stamped the sentiment on the die cut panel and then foam mounted it to the dried card.

I tucked the little snowmen (and one snowflake from the Stackable Snowflakes) into the windows.

get yeti for something fun from mft stamps...

There's an adorable new collection of stamps, dies and more coming to the MFT Stamps shop tomorrow! Are you yeti for it?! LOL!

I am so smitten with this new Yeti or Not set!!! I'm planning many yeti cards but I started with one of my favorite card designs, a little strip of scene!

I masked a section and then stamped the tree & slope in clear embossing ink. I added clear embossing powder and heat set. Then I ink blended over the embossing before adding a sentiment & adorable yeti.

Pop over to the MFT blog to get a sneak peek at all the cuteness!

mft santa's elves

Did you hear that MFT Stamps opened their vault this week and brought back some of their most sought-after retired sets? I LOVE when they do this!!! And a set I was hoping would come back has...Santa's Elves!!!

I mean seriously, could this guy be any cuter?!

For this card I stamped, die cut and colored the elf.

The colors weren't my go-to but it was fun to try something new. And I tested out using grays to make a fluffy texture. My technique needs work but I think I like it.

Then I used the Joy die to create a window and backed it with the Colorful Christmas Text paper.

There's more about the vault release over on the MFT blog so pop over and take a peek!

mft november 2023 vault release

Do you hear that click? It's MFT opening the vault to bring back some of their most sought-after designs! I know you can't wait to check it out but before you run off to shop, I've got a card to share with you...

The Tree Lines die set was one I didn't even know I was missing out on but I could not be happier to have a second chance to add it to my collection! It is so versatile and I think I am going to be using it a TON this holiday season!

For the background of this card, I ink blended Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac & Salvaged Patina. Then I spread glitter paste over it and while the paste was still wet, I dabbed it with a wet wipe. The photos don't really capture the cool, glittery, shattered  ice texture. It's so fun!

I used the Tree Lines die to add create a "snowy bank".

The sentiment is from the Snowfall of Blessings set (another set I'm smitten with) and I shaped it to match the bank.

mft christmas party dinos

Merry Christmasaurus! How cute are the MFT Christmas Party Dinos?!!

When I first started to color critters (something that intimidated me so much), this was exactly the style of card I went for! I kept it so clean & simple with just a critter and a sentiment. The design gave me time to focus on coloring.

And I still love to color critters but it still takes me forever so I still rely on this design!

mft mod & merry

I love stamp sets that combine solids & outlines like the MFT Mod & Merry! And the images are SOOOO good because they can be snowflakes, flowers and more!

For this card I went with snowflakes...

I love using blending tools & brushes to create multicolor images! For this card I stamped the base layer in Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina with my MISTI. Leaving the stamp in the place on the MISTI, I used a blending tool to add Distress Oxide Peacock Feather to just the inside part of the stamp. Then I stamped it again to create the ombre look.

After letting the solid layer dry a little bit, I stamped the line layer in black.

mft merry moose

I adore coloring stamped critters but it takes me a looooong time, LOL! Sometimes I want a cute critter card but I'm short on time so I have to make it black & white! (BTW, have you seen the new MFT Stamps Merry Moose?)

This cute moose is decked out for the holidays with lights in his antlers and ornaments in his arms. I decided to omit the ornaments by placing low-tack tape directly on the stamp, inking it and then removing the tape before stamping onto the cardstock.

The masking wasn't perfect so I also used a white gel pen to "erase" some of the lines.

And my favorite Modern Serif Alphabet spelled out the "merry" and helped hide any imperfections too.

MFT is sharing more cardmaking inspiration with their latest release on their blog today so pop over when you can! And thanks for stopping by!

how to diy faux epoxy embellishments

Did you know that you can create faux epoxy embellishments with Glossy Accents?

It's one of my favorite ways to dress up die cuts and I'm sharing my process & a holiday card over on the MFT Stamps YouTube channel today. I would absolutely love it if you stopped by to watch!

mft kitchen cuties

Have you had a chance to check out MFT's latest release? There is a new Jenoblade set that is so perfect for all bakers & holiday treats, Kitchen Cuties!

MFT has some great sets for tags & gift giving but I couldn't resist pairing this BIG sentiment from Christmas Cash Tags with a little cutie!

I stamped the sentiment on my card front. Then I stamped, die cut & colored the Kitchen Cutie with Copic markers and adhered him over the sentiment with a little foam tape.

A few little faux black splatters with a pen and tada!

What can I say? I love white space!
