a baby shaker card for my sweet friend emily

I'm so thrilled to be sharing this extra special shaker card today in honor of my sweet & talented friend Emily Midgett who is expecting twins!
I wish I could be showering Emily with love in person but since that isn't possible (for a few reasons), a little group of us have gotten together to celebrate her the best way we know how...by making cards!
Emily, I couldn't resist making you a glittery shaker card with double-trouble baby bears. I love you bunches and I'm so excited for your family! I'm sending lots of love and giant hugs!
Here's a little video of how the card came together...

Thanks so much for stopping by!

3 shaker card ideas with catherine pooler designs

I love how easy it is to create an extra special handmade card with a shaker element! And using rainbow colors & patterned paper feels like the extra cherry on top!
The new Catherine Pooler Forever 13 makes middle-school-aged Carly so happy! It is so bright and fun! It reminds me of my beloved (and long lost) Lisa Frank sticker collection and having parties a Skate King (the roller rink everyone went to when I was a kid).

My first thought (as it often is) was to create some shaker cards to add even more color and more fun!
For the first card, I made an "infinity" or full panel shaker card. I love how it turned out with that rainbow stripe paper! If you haven't made an infinity shaker yet, here's a how to video that might help. And definitely try it! It's so fun!!!
I LOVE giant word dies and the Essentials by Ellen Mondo OMG seemed to be the perfect addition to this collection.
And another thing I love to do is pair stamped words with die cut ones. For this card, I masked the sentiment stamp twice with some low tack tape right on the stamp before inking. I place tape over the part I don't want to stamp, ink it up and then remove the tape before stamping.

For the first mask, I covered the bottom of the stamp so only "let the" would stamp. Then I die cut "good" underneath it. And finally stamped "times roll" underneath with the same tape masking technique.

I hope your day involves something with rainbows & sequins. I'm sending lots of love to everyone during this stressful time!

easy interactive cards with essentials by ellen

Creating and giving a handmade card is sweet like ice cream and a card that has an interactive component is like the sprinkles on top!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have two really easy interactive card ideas to share with you and we are hopping to celebrate the newest Essentials by Ellen so there are prizes to be won! (If you are hopping with us, you should be arriving from Jessica's amazing blog!)

I have to admit that I procrastinated for a long time when it came to creating any kind of interactive card. It seemed too hard, too complicated, so I was going to stick with my clean & simple single layer cards.

And then I created my first shaker card and I was HOOKED! If you read my blog regularly, you know I'm still quite smitten with shaker cards. And I found that interactive cards don't have to be hard.
This shaker window is easily created with alphabet dies but it could also be a word die or any shape.

I used Copic markers to color the card front where each letter opening was, put a piece of double-sided adhesive on top of the colored area and added glitter.

The second interactive card is even easier! I used the same alphabet dies to create the glittery "happy" (the letters are coated in Glossy Accents and then glitter). The I used foam adhesive to pop up the circus accessories and mounted the lion with an action wobble. So easy and fun!

Now before you hop on to Julie's awesome blog, there are prizes! One random & lucky commenter will win $25 to the EH shop and one will win the whole March Essentials by Ellen release!!! To enter for a chance to win, make sure to leave comments at each stop along the hop! Comment before Thursday, March 12th at 11:59pm PST. Winners will be notified by email.

5 cardmaking ideas with the stamp market

Are you looking for a little cardmaking inspiration? Well wait until you see the latest stamps for The Stamp Market! I've been stamping up a storm and I can't wait to share...
The Blossoming Background is soooo cool and it has coordinating set to add color to the flowers, Blossoming Background Flowers! I stamped the background in Tropic Teal and then used the Blossoming Background Flowers set to add more color.

After creating the first card, I loved the color palette so much that I used it for the rest of my cards. It felt like a funky rainbow so I incorporated some rainbows with the Happy Hellos sentiment stamps.

The Blossoming Background also looks fab in just black & white...

I might need to stamp it again and just frame it...LOVE!
