a card kit that ever crafter needs...

MFT has a new card kit coming out tomorrow and it is the card kit that every crafter & cardmaker NEEDS! Let me give you a little sneak peek of the Crafty Hands Card Kit...

The kit has everything you need to make cards about making cards! How ridiculously cute is that?!

For this card I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock and used Copic markers to color. I created three color groups and made "stripes" of cardmaking supplies.

I had so much fun cutting, coloring and gluing my tiny supplies!

Definitely pop over to the MFT blog today to see more about the kit and check out what my fabulous crafty friends have made!

mft color challenge 202

I love participating in MFT's challenges for the boost to my creative mojo! Sometimes it is easier to get crafty when part of the design has been decided for you! So if you are looking for a creative jumpstart, I highly recommend joining in MFT's latest color challenge starting today!

Here's the color palette for the challenge...

When I saw it I actually thought Seahawks but I'm not much of a football fan so I was a little lost, LOL!

I decided to start with stripes because I love them! I used some low-tack tape and blending brushes to create Gravel Gray & Blue Beyond stripes on a piece of the Cement Gray cardstock. For the Limelight I inked some white cardstock instead for a truer color and then adhered them to the other panel.

Next I cut a "hi" window from a white panel with the A Very Big Hi die. I'm obsessed with this die!

I stamped "you're simply the best" from the Itty Bitty Thanks set with Gravel Gray.

I adhere the striped panel to a folded card and then adhered the "hi" window panel on top.

I hope you are inspired to join in this color challenge! Pop over to the MFT blog to learn more and thanks so much for stopping by!

mft sketch challenge 624

Do you need some crafty time but you're not sure where to start? I highly recommend starting with a card sketch! And you're in luck because MFT has a new sketch challenge starting today! That means you could enter for a chance to win $50 to the MFT shop just by making a card!

Here's this week's sketch...

And here's the card I created...

I thought the sketch design would make a fabulous background for some flowers from the new Fundamental Florals set (that I'm a little obsessed with). I die cut a bunch, colored and assembled them.

Then I stamped the circle design on the card front with the Full Circle set. And I liked the circles by themselves so much that I decided to save the flowers for another card, LOL!

Instead I just added the die cut Thank You to the top and a little faux black splatter with a pen.
I hope you are inspired to join this week's MFT sketch challenge! You can find all the info HERE on their blog.

flower power shaker with mft stamps

The fabulous MFT Stamps December release hits the shop today and there are some new dies that I just can't get enough of! The Fundamental Florals and A Very Big Hi are such awesome die sets and I think they go together so well too! Let me show you what I mean before you head off to shop *wink*

I admit that I make too many shaker cards but I've never met a big word die that I didn't want to turn into a shaker window and the A Very Big Hi is no exception! And it's so cute, right?!

I stamped a sentiment from Catitude set under the "hi" window.

I blended Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Kitsch Flamingo and Salvaged Patina on the card front to be the background for the shaker.

And I filled the shaker with clear sequins but also flower bits made with Fundamental Florals. I layered three of each flower die cut together and added the black middle.

Make sure to pop over to the MFT blog to see more of the new release!

mft stamps december release countdown day 1

The MFT Stamps December release is almost here and no release would be complete without an adorable set of critters like the new Catitude!

I knew I wanted to use the negative of the Bold Happy Birthday and have color coming through from the card front. I also knew I was going to color the kitty orange so I blended two Distress Oxide inks, Saltwater Taffy & Dried Marigold to match the Copic markers. Why didn't I just color my card front with the markers? Good question, LOL! I just didn't want it to bleed through to the inside of the card.
After die cutting the "happy birthday", I stamped a sentiment from the Catitude set and then I put a little embroidery floss through as if the kitty had been making mischief.
I wrapped more floss around my stamped, cut & colored kitty. And added a little "yarn ball".

Have a great day!

mft stamps december release countdown day 2

The MFT December release hits the shop in just two days and I know you're going to love the new products we're revealing today just as much as I do!

This gorgeous abstract rose is showing up in a background stamp, a cover plate die, a stencil and the Rose In Bloom die I used on this card!

For my card I swiped Distress Oxide Saltwater Taffy and Tattered Rose on my card front. Then I spread some Nuvo Dream Drops over the top of the ink to give it a shiny, iridescent finish.

Next I cut the Rose In Bloom twice from a cardstock panel. I adhered the panel to the card when the Nuvo Drops were dry.

Then I colored the rose die cuts with a marker and adhered them back in the negative die cut openings.

The final touches were a sentiment and some faux black splatter with a pen.

mft stamps december release countdown day 3

It's halfway to the MFT December release and I've got another card to share!

You know I LOVE a big word die! And how fun is this Tall Cheers?! It's so perfect for New Year's but also birthdays and celebrations in general! I couldn't resist turning it into a shaker window.

I stamped "there's so much to celebrate" from the How To Say Cheers set below the shaker window.

And I added a champagne toast with the glasses from Pop The Champagne and hands from In Good Hands set. I like to die cut everything from white cardstock and color it with markers. White cardstock is always handy on my desk, which I think means my desk is messy, LOL!

Head over to the MFT blog when you have a minute to see more of the December release.

mft stamps december release countdown day 4

We are counting down to the MFT Stamps December release and today I have a card to share that I love so much because the die sets are just bananas good!

I adore big word dies and the new A Very Big Hi die does not disappoint! I love the font and I can't wait to pair it with critters!!! And oh the shakers I am going to make!!!

Surprisingly this time I didn't make it into a shaker but I did use the negative space and I filled it with a mod flower from the new Fundamental Florals die set. This set is a MUST HAVE! This is just one of the flowers out of 9 styles. So much potential!

And I added a cheeky sentiment from the Hand-Stamped Original stamp set. These are meant mostly for the envelopes but they are cute on the card fronts too!

counting down to the mft december 2022 release

There are 5 days until the MFT Stamps December release and I'm so excited for you to see it! I always love MFT's stamps and dies but I'm crazy for some of the sets coming out next week! Let me show you a few...

There are these fabulous new number die sets, Solid Numbers & Outline Numbers, and layered together they look like this! I love them so much!!! Here I borrowed a flame from another set to make them into candles because the fireworks from the new Festive Fireworks set look so cute as "glow".

The sentiment is from Banner Day Celebrations and its stamped on It's A Banner Day die cut.

I also used a few of the stamps from Festive Fireworks to add a little pattern underneath the numbers.

And I know that's quite a few sets to talk about for one card but I love them all so much! So. So. Much. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! You can find more peeks at the MFT December release on their blog!

Have a great day!

mft sketch challenge 623

Are you ready for a creativity boost? I've got just the thing, MFT's Weekly Sketch Challenge!

Here's this week's sketch...

And here's my card...

I started by using a little low-tack tape to mask off the square on the bottom of my card front like the sketch design. Then I blended Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina.

And then I was stumped. I really had no idea what to add next so I decided to just grab a stamp set that I'd been wanting to color with, Playful Penguins.

And that was all I needed! After adding the penguin and ice to the card, I die cut a speech bubble with the Say Anything set and colored it with Copic E01 to coordinate with the penguin. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Playful Penguins on top.

The last little detail was a few heart die cuts borrowed from the Cool Christmas Trees set.

I hope I've inspired you to check out the sketch challenge! You can learn more about it over on the MFT Stamps blog!

Hugs!
