rainbow storm + last day to enter

it's the last day of rainbow inspiration week and today's card was created with someone special in mind...
we are celebrating her awesomeness this weekend so i wanted to create something a little artistic and a little rock because the she's a very talented artist and an all-around super cool girl!

i used distress inks to create a loose and kinda messy watercolor background.
to create my david bowie-esque lightening bolt, i cut a piece of be creative double-sided adhesive into the shape. then i put the extra fine glitter onto the adhesive and burnished it with my finger.

i put part of my sentiment on the front and the rest inside.

and don't forget that today is the last day to enter for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to ellen hutson llc. just leave your comment on this post or any other rainbow week post.

tgif!

rainbow marble

it's day 3 of rainbow week!

did you play with marbles as a kid? i never actually "played" with them, i just admired the pretty colors and sorted them into groups. yes i was that kid, i liked cleaning my room...but anyways...

this card was inspired by rainbow marbles...
i love marbling with alcohol inks. it's really easy and pretty too!

all you need is a container of cold water and make sure to use a container you don't mind staining (i used a disposable aluminum pan). to the cold water, add a few drops of each color of alcohol ink.
then just dip your cardstock! any cardstock will work but i like the smooth finish of solar white.

for this card i applied a strip of painter's tape as a mask and then just dipped to my tape.
to create my sentiment, i die cut 3 white cardstock awesomes using the essentials by ellen positive word set. i used a glue pen to adhere them together.

then i cut the partial black cardstock awesome by securing a strip of black cardstock to half of the die with washi tape. i removed each small section and used a glue pen to add it to the tops of my white letters. i combined the dimensional awesome with a little avery elle sentiment.

and finally clear sequins!
thanks for stopping by!

rainbow freckles + giveaway

have you heard of rainbow freckles? its a makeup trend that someone much younger and cooler showed me.

sources:

-instgram@jessicaaa_mua via self

and while i think i might be a little past rocking rainbow freckles, i found them pretty inspiring:
to create my rainbow freckled card, i cut a circle from masking paper and applied the mask to the front of my card.

then i used the smallest dot stamp from the essentials by ellen bokeh dots to stamp around the circle mask.

i stamped one color at a time and while it was a little time consuming, it was relaxing too. then finished my card with a sentiment in the middle, some watercolor butterflies and a few clear sequins.

now about the rainbow week giveaway!!!
some lucky person is going to win a $25 gift certificate to ellen hutson llc. all you have to do is leave a comment between today and friday. the winner will be drawn on saturday, march 12th.

and do you want to enter the giveaway more than once by commenting on more than one day? go for it! you can even share a link to rainbow week on social media for another entry (just be sure to leave me another comment or tag me).
