faceted gem

i love the essentials by ellen clear stamps, hello gorgeous set and i have been using it to practice my no-line watercoloring because someday i want to be as good as alice wertz, i'm going to need sooooo much practice and maybe a genie with magic wishes for that because she is amazing! but anyway today i thought i would just practice some simple watercoloring...

i'm such a product oriented kinda girl, i couldn't just watercolor, i had to make something. and after 5 tries, because i guess i need to practice my simple watercoloring too, i finally ended up with this little card.

so besides learning i need more practice or maybe just more crafty time (wink), i also learned i can emboss with my versafine inks. i knew they were pigment inks but they are meant to be fast drying so i've never tried it before. i was stamping and watercoloring without embossing but i wasn't liking the messy look but of course i was really committed to the smokey gray color (i'm stubborn and honestly now that it's done, it's kinda washed out). so anyways, i stamped in the smokey gray versafine and quickly applied some super fine clear embossing powder and heat set. i'm sure i'm the last person to know this but i thought i'd share in case i'm just the second to last person and there's one more of you out there.

thanks for stopping by!

xo,
carly
