molotow masking + izink watercolor

recently a few friends have needed to know that they were in my thoughts & prayers so i wanted to create a simple card to send their way. i also took the opportunity to test out my new molotow masking pen and izink pigment ink.
-i started with a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of smooth bristol and i stamped the essentials by ellen mondo magnolia in versafine onyx black, my very favorite black ink.

-i practiced a bit with the molotow masking pen and i found i had the best success when i used it on a smaller area. that could be because i only had the smaller tip handy (the 2mm) and it was hard to cover the whole magnolia. i outlined just the edges of the flower with masking fluid and let dry.

-then i applied a few drops of the izink mimosa to my non-stick craft sheet and used it to watercolor, going right to the edge of my masked flower but not over. the izink was super easy to work with and blend, even with my novice watercolor skills.

-i let the izink dry and then used a clean paper towel to rub the molotow masking away.

-i added a little shimmer to my magnolia with a clear wink of stella maker. and a little dimension in the middle of the flower with a shimmer irresistible pico embellisher.

-to create my sentiment, i used "sending" from the mama elephant happy everything set and i couldn't find just the right individual "love" in my collection so i used a dew drop to ink just the "love" from the "i'll eat you up i love you so." stamp from the essentials by ellen love you set.

-then i adhered the panel to a folded 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 solar white card.

thanks for stopping by!

I love that idea of using glue through stencils to foil. All of your cards are so pretty. Thanks for sharing.
