Let's start the countdown to the next MFT Stamps release with my first holiday card of the year!
What do you think? I used the new Christmas Tree Farm stamp set and it is such a sweet set! I stamped, cut and colored the little squirrel & sign but I needed a background...
You might have heard me say this before but stamped scenes intimidate me. I love coloring stamped images but it does not come easily to me. It often takes me a few (or 9) tries to be happy with an image and don't get me started about how long I take to use colors, LOL! So the idea of having to color a whole scene is often too much so I have a few "cheats" I like to use. This background is one of them.
To create it, I cut a DIY stencil with a circle die and I used the stencil to ink blend Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio. With the stencil in place, I stamped the trees with Distress Oxide Lucky Clover.
The background is simple, requires no more coloring and still gives me a place for my carefully colored critter.
Thanks for stopping by! You can find more peeks at the MFT August release on their blog and YouTube channel.
