And if you've seen my cards, you know that I have a pretty big critter crush on the sweet little fox from Honey Bee's new Feelin' Foxy set. I think I'm also just a little proud of how my Copic coloring is improving *grin*
In fact, I colored a bunch a foxes and they needed a "home" so I created this simple background with some repeated sentiment stamping.
Repeated stamping is so easy with a stamping tool like the MISTI. I just...
measured the height of the letters
placed my stamp in the middle of the MISTI
shifted my paper up & down by that height of the letters (in this case 3/4 of an inch)

I used my MISTI to create a watercolor "shadow" behind my sentiments. You can see it here in this video...
And can we talk about how awesome the Ridiculously Happy sentiment is? How good would you feel if someone said that to you?!
Do you ever have those days (or weeks) that are just YUCK and you aren't sure if you need a hug, a brownie, a nap or to sit & color? Yeah, me too. And last week was one of those weeks. To make myself feel better, I wore my pjs all day yesterday, ate 2 brownies and colored a whole bunch of minty puppies using the brand new Leading Ladies Dog Lady set...
Why mint pups? Well why not?! And after I colored quite a bunch of puppies, I actually made a couple of cards...
There's a new Pretty Pink Posh release this week and I think it might be the best one yet! In fact, I'm a little obsessed with the new Wild Rose stamp set, as you will see in a minute but first let me tell you about prizes... There are 4 $25 gift certificates up for grabs! Ok, back to the Wild Rose set...I used my MISTI to create a cascade of Wild Roses and then I stamped in different inks & played with an assortment of mediums.
#1. VersaFine, Clean Color & Aqua Shimmer
I stamped with my favorite black ink for watercoloring or pretty much anything, VersaFine. I colored just one flower with Clean Color Real Brush Markers and used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer glitter gloss marker to blend. Finally I added a layer of Glossy Accents over the top for dimension and shine. It's hard to capture but the glossy glitter is so yummy!
#2. Clean Color & Nuvo Mousse
I stamped the flowers again using a Copic-friendly ink (I find it works better with the Nuvo Mousse). Then I coated the entire panel with Mother of Pearl Nuvo Mousse. It's like DIY shimmer paper with the stamped image underneath. I used the Clean Color markers to color the flowers, over the mousse, blending with just a little water. The final touches were sequins of course, and Nuvo Glitter Drops flower centers and smudged on the panel too.
#3. Distress Oxides
On this card, the flowers are stamped in Distress Oxide. Then I used more Distress Oxide to watercolor in a messy, Carly fashion.
And I used one of the tiny, cute sentiments from the PPP Bear Hugs set. Thanks for stopping by and have fun hopping!

Fall brings some of my favorite things like sweaters & pumpkin spice, an excess of fun-sized Halloween candy and some awesome new crafty products from some of my favorite companies like Honey Bee Stamps! I'm thrilled to be hopping along with my friends at Honey Bee to celebrate their gorgeous fall release! You should be arriving here from Brenda Noelke's blog and before you hop onto Emily Midgett's, I want to share 3 cards I have created with one of my favorite new Honey Bee sets, Gather Together.
This sweet little group of critters has my heart in a big way! And I love the sentiments included like "families are like fudge mostly sweet with a few nuts" or the sentiments you can build like "friends are the family we choose ourselves". Both things are so true!!! And again, those sweet little critter faces! In fact, I love those critters so much, I started by just stamping them in black off the bottom edge of my card.
I used two colors of Distress Oxide to stamp "hello", then added a few splatters and a few coral touches to the critters, like their noses and flowers.
The second thing I couldn't wait to try was some loose Copic coloring, the kind that always reminds me of storybooks. I chose bright, primary-ish colors and colored carefully so my coloring would look loose, a bit messy and not meet all the edges. Who knew it would be hard to look messy! LOL!
Lastly, I did some selective stamping and watercoloring practice. I say practice because as you can see, it's certainly not perfect but I think I'm getting better.
To stamp just bunny, teddy & foxy, I applied Antique Linen Distress Markers to just the three of them and stamped on smooth Bristol watercolor paper.
I scribbled my markers onto a clean acrylic block to use a as palette and watercolored.

Today we getting together with our sweet friends at Honey Bee Stamps to hop around and celebrate the release of the United We Flourish Sending Sunshine Stamp & Die Combo by Honey Bee. I've been having a blast with this set, including creating these cards that I'm calling the "summer sunrise" trio...
These cards take my love of Glossy Accents and Nuvo Drops to a whole new place! Making glossy, layered die cut words is already one of my very favorite things but now I'm excited to use Accents & Nuvo Drops with my stencils too. Here's what I did... The first step is to mask off a section to apply ink to. I used Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey Distress Inks.
Tack stencil over inked panel.
Apply a gloss medium like Nuvo Drops Morning Dew or Glossy Accents.
Smooth medium with a squeegee.
A few things to note...Distress Oxides are water-reactive so the gloss medium will effect the ink. Work quickly and apply to smaller areas. To complete my card, I "built" sentiments with the UWF Sending Sunshine set. I layered 3 sunshine die cuts, applied Oxide ink and topped with Glossy Accents.
I am NOT a summer girl. I don't like to be hot, I hate to sweat and at best, I'm ambivalent about the sun. I'm a true PNW girl, I love the gray skies and constant drizzle of fall, winter and spring. However I do think we all need a little more sunny things in our every day life. That's what handmade cards are all about right? Sending a bit of sunshine to those we love. I'm so excited that the latest United We Flourish set is available today! This collaboration from Essentials by Ellen & Honey Bee is full of sun and happiness...
I have been having tons of fun with this set! The sentiments pair so well with so many things, including something I consider sunny - citrus!
I used the Honey Bee Sunburst Stencils to achieve my mod & graphic lemons, limes and oranges. Here's how: A ring of masking paper to a circle die cut from white cardstock.
Low-tack tape to tack down my folded circle notecard and stencil on top.
Avery Elle Daisy yellow pigment ink applied first.
A second color (Distress Oxide Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade or Twisted Citron) applied and blended.
Removed stencil and inked the remaining edge to create rind.
Removed the ring of masking paper and stamp sentiment inside.
For the card I used the same technique for the smaller orange slice.
I created the dotted background paper by using a ink blended tool pushed straight down.
