I have to admit that I procrastinated for a long time when it came to creating any kind of interactive card. It seemed too hard, too complicated, so I was going to stick with my clean & simple single layer cards.
And then I created my first shaker card and I was HOOKED! If you read my blog regularly, you know I'm still quite smitten with shaker cards. And I found that interactive cards don't have to be hard.
This shaker window is easily created with alphabet dies but it could also be a word die or any shape.
I used Copic markers to color the card front where each letter opening was, put a piece of double-sided adhesive on top of the colored area and added glitter.

The second interactive card is even easier! I used the same alphabet dies to create the glittery "happy" (the letters are coated in Glossy Accents and then glitter). The I used foam adhesive to pop up the circus accessories and mounted the lion with an action wobble. So easy and fun!

Brilliant idea yo have the lion roar the birthday sentiment.
Your cards are spectacular! The way you used the copic, glitter and colors for the letters are fun with those mediums. Creating a shaker with the letters is neat too. The way you had the happy coming out of the lion's mouth really increased the volume of that greeting! Way to go!

These are fabulous cards Carly! I've not done shaker cards as, like you used to think, I think they must be hard. Now, having read how you've created the one, I'm going to give it a try. I'm going to also bookmark your site so I can come back to peruse your older posts to see what I can learn from you. I'd sign up for your emails, but I have health issues that make me get way behind on the few I have as it is.
