mft's sketch challenge 588

I've missed participating in the MFT sketch challenges for the last little bit because I've been busy soaking up all the newborn baby snuggles BUT when my mom was over the other day to get her baby snuggling time in, I couldn't resist creating for the latest sketch!

Here's this week's sketch...
And here's my take...
My diagonal panels are the wrong direction, lol but I had so much fun creating a pattern to watercolor with the MFT Sending Sunshine and Smiles stamp set. The images are just so sweet!

To start I drew a light pencil line diagonally on the panel of watercolor paper.
I wanted the line to help with spacing the images in the shape that I would eventually cut the panel.

And as a bonus I created two of the diagonal panels by arranging the stamps, inking, stamping and turning my panel to ink & stamp again. It was nice to have an extra to make a second card (or just as a backup).
I did end up adding a few more images to fill in space after cutting the panel into the diagonal pieces.
I used Distress inks to watercolor. And I purposefully let it be messy and imperfect, leaning into my lack of precision ;)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to join the sketch challenge! You can find all the info HERE on their blog.

Hugs!
Carly
