well actually they're tammy t's sweet and beautiful girls but they are two of my most favorite and cooperative models. we had a fun little spring shoot the other day and here a few of my favorite shots...

while hunting for fun vintage things, tammy t and i came across these old communion trays. perhaps it was because they were old & silver (two things that always get my attention), or maybe it was just because there was a big 'ol stack, but they called out to us...

frame

supplies:

-vintage communion trays (look for them at thrift & antique stores or maybe even my booth at the farm chicks show...wink, wink)

-photo (make sure the print is large enough to cut into a circle that fits your tray, i used a 12x12)

-memorabilia

-adhesive (i used glue dots for the photo and quick grip for my sand dollar)

how to:

-trace around smallest part of tray on back side of photo and cut out.

-sand edges of photo lightly if desired.

-adhere photo into back of tray.

-arrange memorabilia along tray ledge as desired and then adhere with strong adhesive like quick grip.

place the cup holder in upside down, cover with crinkle (we used old book crnkle) and then the cup holder helps hold the eggs in place.

spring mini sessions!

i'm excited to announce...

when: saturday, april 10th

where: the wonderful treasury of memories warehouse (if you joined us for the last mini sessions, you know how cool their garage door is, it's gives us lots of yummy natural light but it will keep us dry in case it rains).

what: a mini portrait session for only $25...you join me for just 10-15 minutes and then you'll receive a cd of custom edited photos (in both black & white and color) of 5-10 images. we're going to have an adorable burlap background with big fabric flowers (just like our logo above).

today's project is a super cute idea from my friend tammy t. when i saw her frame not only did i break my ban on plain ol'frames, i immediately asked permission to copy it. and being such a good friend, she said yes. thanks tammy t!


supplies:
-fabric
-needle & thread
-buttons
-circle pattern (i used a 5.5 dish)
-fabric scissors
-strong liquid adhesive (i used Quick Grip)
-photo
-frame

how to:
-first clean your frame and put your photo in it, just so it's done.
-next you need to make your yo-yos, there are some great tutorials online if you google "how to make fabric yo-yos" but here's one i really like by super cute fabric designer heather bailey.
-once you have your yo-yos, decide on the placement on your frame and adhere them with a strong adhesive.
-ta-da! isn't that a cute way to customize a frame?!

i am beyond thrilled to announce that carly tee photography is expanding to be carly tee photography & design, with a brand new line of photo decor products! you know how i get bored with regular old frames & how much i love friday creatives, and so this idea was born! our photo decor products are re-purposed vintage finds & vintage-inspired and they make me happy. here's a few sneak peeks...

and there's more! our online shop will open early june and you can also shop with us in person at the FARM CHICKS SHOW! we are super excited to be vendors! (didn't i tell you it was big news?!)
