confetti shaker + essentials by ellen pin-sights challenge
have you seen the pin-sights challenge over in the classroom at ellen hutson llc? i know i'm a little biased (or maybe a lot lol!) because i'm part of the eh team but i think it's a pretty cool challenge. each month the talented & wonderful laurel beard chooses a pinterest piece as inspiration for the challenge. june's pinterest piece and cards from the talented designers playing along, inspired me to create this card:
i created a full panel shaker card with ink splatter on the background, sequins, confetti and acetate butterflies inside. and for fun, i folded and adhered an acetate butterfly on the outside of the shaker too.
xo,

winnie & walter share the love day 5
happy friday and happy day 5 of the winnie & walter share the love week featuring essentials by ellen. today's awesome challenge is to use an amazing mood board compiled by winnie & walter's shay as inspiration. here's the moodboard:
i was totally inspired by the black & white stripes, bright pinks & oranges, gold and of course, flowers! here is the card i created:
i started by stamping flowers on smooth bristol in distress ink colors to coordinate with the clean color markers i planned to use for no-line watercoloring.
i applied masks over my flowers and then painted wide stripes with distress ink black soot.
i removed my masks and colored my flowers with clean color markers.
then i added a few highlights to flowers with a toner pen and ran it through my laminator with gold foil.
i trimmed the panel down, wrapped a little bit of gold thread around the top and added "hello" cut from gold foil paper.
thanks for stopping by and i hope you have played along with the fun challenges this week too!
