sending love + stencils
i'm just popping in to share a card i made to let a sweet friend know i was thinking about her...
i love blending distress inks so i used abandoned coral and spun sugar inks with a heart stencil.
for the rays i used just spun sugar.
for the sentiment i used the "love" from the essentials by ellen all inside set. i have a big crush on this "love" stamp. i think it's pretty much perfect.

alcohol ink butterflies
i love finding new ways of using my "old" supplies so i was super excited to try stamping with my alcohol inks.
i started by die cutting some felt butterflies.
i applied some self-adhesive velcro to an acrylic block. (i'm planning to keep the velcro on this block and use it for this technique because its pretty stuck on there.)
i placed a felt butterfly on my diy velcro block and added 2 shades of ranger alcohol ink (my spring-y favs are wild plum & shell pink).
then i added a little blending solution and stamped on to glossy cardstock.
i cut a piece of acetate to fit over my glossy cardstock. with my acetate on top of my glossy cardstock, so i could line up my butterflies, i used stazon to stamp the butterfly that matches the die i used to cut the felt.
i stamped my sentiment with stazon on to my glossy cardstock.
i cut a piece of 5 x 5-1/2 desert storm, scoring 3/4 in on the 5 side. then i adhered the glossy cardstock to the larger side of the desert storm piece. and i adhered the acetate to the smaller side of the desert storm. does that make sense? i'm a little confused, lol!
i finished with a little "faux" stitched strip and sequins!
