end of may favorites

some of my favorite crafty supplies this month...

1. essentials by ellen clear stamps, bohemian garden: love, love, love this stamp set! it's so versatile! it looks good stamped alone, watercolored and it works well for foiling techniques. i just love it!

2. gold sequins: they go with everything, right?!

3. zig brush20: these water brushes are awesome for watercoloring. the detailer is my favorite but medium is really handy to have for larger areas too.

4. distress inks: i love distress inks because they are such great multitaskers! they are awesome for watercoloring, just swipe across your craft mat or a spare acrylic block and add water. and they also have such great colors! my current favorites are chipped sapphire, shaded lilac, cracked pistachio and abandoned coral.

disney pages

i'm super excited that we have a vacation coming up! after 4 long years married to a college student, a vacation sounds amazing and even more exciting, its a disney vacation!!! so i thought i had better scrapbook our last disney vacation from 7 years ago before the next one happens this summer.

the photos from our last trip weren't stellar but i had one i really loved so i had it printed as a 12x12 from persnickety prints, they rock! i added my title and a smattering of sequins to that page.

the 2nd page i grouped the rest of my 4x4 photos on a polka dot patterned paper with some stitched vellum rays. i printed my journaling and used a circle dot to make it a giant polka dot.

glitter card

i love glitter! so i've been wanting to create a card that was super glittery and my sweet friend tammy t's birthday was the perfect occasion because she's pretty darn sparkly!

i started with an all-over glitter base. then i die cut "happy" 4 times and adhered all of the layers together. i added a little extra shimmer to the top of my dimensional "happy" with a clear wink of stella pen. finally i watercolored a little banner and stamped it with "birthday".

more bohemian garden

the obsession is growing, as is the stack of cards i've made with essentials by ellen clear stamps, bohemian garden by julie ebersole. i suspect it's going to be a longtime favorite.

this card also includes another current favorite (of almost everyone i think,) gold. i used gold glitter paper to die cut the leaves and gold thread to wrap around the card. i also added a little black glitter in the center of the coral flowers to make them feel more "poppy" like, and because you can't go wrong with more glitter!

bohemian blue flowers + masking

i've probably mentioned before that i love cardmaking! i love it because it is such a fun way to try out new products and new techniques. and its a good way to perfect those techniques.

lately i'm a bit obsessed with my essentials by ellen clear stamps, bohemian garden set and masking. i just love how the flowers look grouped together.

here's my latest card:
my masking is getting pretty good i think but my splattering could use some work, lol!

starbucks inspiration + distress inks

i don't actually drink coffee but i do enjoy visiting starbucks occasionally with my friends and a trip last week was especially fun when i saw their ads for frappuccino happy hour like this one:

i really wanted to recreate the colors on a card and i thought some distress inks, including the 2015 distress colors, would be perfect!
