mft something sweet card kit

The MFT Something Sweet card kit just hit the shop and it is the sweetest!!! And I'm obsessed with the Sweet Summer Color Blends paper pad! Before you run off to shop, I've got a card to share...

I started by die cutting the sweet word four times from one of the color blends paper. Then I adhered them to a folded white card.

Next I grabbed the Sweet Sticks set and die cut the lollipop from the same color blend piece and stick from a tan scrap. I die cut two more lollis from white cardstock and layered them with the colored one. Then I topped it with a coat of Glossy Accents and a sprinkle of glitter.

The sentiment from Something Sweet is stamped on a circle of vellum to help mute the background just a little.

And I highly recommend heading over to the MFT blog to see more of the sweet cards my teammates have made!

something sweet coming from mft stamps

Something sweet is coming tomorrow in the MFT Stamps shop...a new card kit! Want a little peek?

I look at all dies and wonder if I can make them into a shaker card and of course it was no different with the Cotton Candy Cone. And could there be a more perfect shaker?!
The background of the shaker window is the dreamiest new patterned paper, Sweet Summer Color Blends. Normally I just collect all the pretty papers and never actually figure out how to use them in my cards. But these papers are the ink blends of my dreams! I need at least a dozen of these paper pads because I am definitely going to use them up, LOL!

I liked how this card turned out so much that I made another and added a little glitter paste to the background.
What do you think? Which one would you choose? Plain or glittery?
Pop over to the MFT blog to learn more about the Something Sweet card kit and stay tuned for more ideas this week!

pizza shaker card with mft stamps

I look at every die that crosses my path and wonder if it would make a good shaker window. LOL!

I was delighted when MFT released the much-loved Pizza Maker set from the retirement vault because not only does the pizza make a great shaker window but the toppings make adorable shaker bits!

Some tips...

  • For this card I adhered the sauce & cheese layers to a card front but I adhered the crust to the acetate of the shaker window just to add a little texture.
  • I die cut all the pizza topping shaker bits from white cardstock and gave them a little color by ink blending. I also colored both sides just in case they flipped over while shaking.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have time, pop over to the MFT blog to see more cards with cute MFT vault sets!

easy layered stamps with mft watercolor flowers

Have you checked out MFT's latest vault release? The sets they have brought out of retirement are so fun!!! Watercolor Flowers is one of those sets...

Do you like multi-step layering stamps? If I'm being really honest, they aren't usually my favorite. Even with a stamping tool, tips, tricks, stamping hacks...I'm not great at lining them up.

BUT the MFT Watercolor Flowers was super fun & easy to work with! Each flower has 4 layers so I started by stamping the base layer in Distress Oxide Spun Sugar (after I stamped a sentiment from Gum Ball Greetings to ground my design).

I stamped the second & third detail layers in Kitsch Flamingo & Saltwater Taffy. And I stamped the two colors at the same time, inking up one side with one color and the other color on the opposite side. Before stamping, I used a blending tool to soften the middle where the colors met. I found the detail layers easy to line up and forgiving when I messed it up a little.

The final layer was the flower center stamped in black.

What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have time, pop over to the MFT blog to see more cards with sets coming out of the vault!

mft july vault release

Do you hear that click? It's MFT opening the vault to bring back some of their most sought-after designs! I know you can't wait to check it out but before you run off to shop, I've got a card to share with you...

I've been hoping that the Flashy Florals set would come back some day so I'm beyond thrilled! For this card I paired it with an emboss resist technique and ink blending.

I started by stamping & embossing the sentiment from Twice the Wishes set with clear ink and clear powder.

Then I stamped the detail layers for the largest Flashy Florals in black. I stamped & embossed the base floral layer in clear over the black details.

I ink blended Distress Oxides over the embossed flowers & sentiment, then used a clean paper towel to wipe off the excess ink.

The last step was to splatter the panel with a little clean water, dab it with a paper towel and then add a little faux splatter with a black pen.

You can see that process in action over on my Instagram today and you can see more about the vault release over on the MFT blog!

treat yourself to something fun from mft stamps

There are a few retired MFT Stamps sets that I see adorable cards with all the time and I kick myself for missing out! But MFT is opening the "vault" this week and bringing back some of their best sets!!! Wanna see a little sneak peek...

I am sooooo excited to see the Gumball Machine & Gumball Greetings back! Aren't they so seriously cute?!!

I had to go pink and I had to make it a shaker! In fact I made it a double-window shaker, with a window on the front and on the inside!

To start I die cut all the pieces twice from white cardstock. Then I added color with Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo & a few gray Copic markers.

I used the circle die on a panel and a folded card in the same place and turned them both into shaker windows with pieces of acetate. Then I added the pieces of the gumball machine around the windows.

Finally I adhered the panel and folded card together with foam tape, sandwiching the shaker bits in the middle.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have time, pop over to the MFT blog to see more of what is coming on Tuesday!

mft you're a unicorn

MFT Stamps You're A Unicorn Die-namics is the perfect die set for making magical cards, including magical birthday cards!

The unicorn is so easy & fun to put together! For this card I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock and then ink blended with Distress Oxide inks to add color.

For the background I embossed Wish Big Today die on Sno Cone cardstock

I adhered the embossed panel to a folded white card. Then I trimmed a bit off the bottom so I could stamp a little birthday sentiment from the One In A Unicorn stamp set.

What do you think?

Pop over to the MFT blog to see more unicorns on more cards and have a happy day!

mft feline fun

The MFT Stamp Feline Fun set is perfect for creating cards for the cat lover in your life and your favorite vet too! It's also easy to pair with a party hat and make into a birthday card!

I borrowed a party hat from the Presents and Pupcakes set for my little orange kitty to wear. And then I thought the hat and the little toy mouse & cat food would make cute little shaker bits! So I used the Big Happy Birthday to make a shaker window.

I love the Big Birthday and kitty together so much that I also made this card...

You can watch the cardmaking process video over on the MFT YouTube channel. And there's also lots more cardmaking inspiration on the MFT blog so stop by there when you have a minute!

mft plane and simple

The MFT Stamps Plane and Simple set is so effortlessly adorable! It's a breeze to assemble with some embossed lines that serve as guides.

For this card I die cut everything from white cardstock and then used Distress Oxide inks and a few Copic markers to color all the pieces before assembling.

I cut a few clouds (borrowed from the Hunny Bunny set) from a piece of Sno Cone cardstock. Then I adhered the cloud panel to a white card, stamped a sentiment from the Plane and Simple Sentiments set and added the plane.

If you have a minute, pop over to the MFT blog to see more cards with the Plane and Simple set!

mft stamps carnival critters

Have you seen MFT's new line, Jenoblade? There are 3 new Jenoblade sets and they are all adorable but my favorite is Carnival Critters

I started by masking off a section along the top of my card. Next I stamped & embossed the amusement park along the top of card with clear embossing ink & clear powder.

Then when I ink blended Distress Oxide inks over the image, the embossed image resisted the color. I love emboss resist!
I'm sharing a bit more of the cardmaking process on my Instagram today so swing on by. And definitely pop over to the MFT blog to see more projects with the adorable Jenoblade sets!

mft stamps sweet july 2023 release

This month MFT Stamps is celebrating seventeen sweet years in business with a sweet new collection of adorable stamps & dies! There's puppies, kitties, cotton candy, unicorns and even donuts! And before you pop over to the MFT shop to check it out, I've got card to share!

I adore big words dies and A Very Big Hi is one of my all-time favorites and I love using it as a window to fill with fun bits. I couldn't resist donuts with the Time To Make The Donuts set. Seriously could they be any cuter?!!

I die cut the donuts from white cardstock and colored the base layer with a Copic marker E43. Then I used Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold and Shaded Lilac to ink blend the icing layer. I love how fun & summery they turned out!

I stamped a sentiment from A Dozen Reasons To Smile under the "hi" window.

I adhered the donuts behind the "hi" window and then foam mounted it to a folded card colored with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina.

Next I think I should make donut shaker bits!

mft sketch challenge 653

I have not done an MFT sketch challenge in forever so I'm thrilled to be joining in on the fun this week! I love these sketch challenges and I think they are such a good way to jumpstart creativity!

Here's this week's sketch...

And here's the card I made...

I have been more than a little obsessed with the Bold Blooms set and have been trying to use it every chance I get! I was planning to use my favorite flower from the set as the circles in the grid from the sketch but they were a little too big. And since I had my heart set on that flower (even though there are smaller ones), I mixed the flowers with circles.

I die cut the flowers from white cardstock and ink blended them for color.

The sentiment is from the Happy Occasions set.

I hope you are inspired to join this week's MFT sketch challenge! You can find all the info HERE on their blog.

Hugs!
