masking with the stamp market

The Stamp Market is now available at Ellen Hutson and I am super excited to be part of the welcoming committee! I love the bold & fun style of The Stamp Market! Their great mix of graphic & floral designs make me happy!

Today I want to share a card I created with my favorite stamping technique - masking! And I also tried to mix graphic & floral, what do you think?
And I made a quick video of the process...

positive & negative die cuts for a layer cake

Hi Friends! Today I wanted to share a quick way to use the positive and negative pieces of a die cut to create something a little different! It is a great way to stretch your dies!
Check out my little video on turning the Banner Cake into a layer cake!

And because I'm a bit of a crafty enabler, I think you should run right over to Ellen Hutson LLC and get this die! They are having a die sale!

Hugs!

easy chalkboard backgrounds + new essentials by ellen

There is a brand new Essentials by Ellen release today and it is awesome! There are two new Leading Ladies, the Everyday Hero Lady and the Hot Mess Lady. And I have lots of love for both these ladies because I feel like they represent us all, maybe just on different days. *laugh*
I love using white ink on black cardstock to create a chalkboard "look" and I have a quick video to share...

Have a happy day!

Hugs,
Carly

autism awareness blog hop

I'm so happy to be joining with the Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop! How cool is it that we can support awareness with our crafts?! And what a wonderful community we have!

Our lovely & amazing host Veronica suggested a theme for our cards today of feel good encouragement and I knew exactly the sets I wanted to use, Essentials by Ellen Totally Awesome and Positive Words. These are sets I keep coming back to over and over because everyone needs to hear how awesome they are! And in addition to the encouragement theme, we are painting the internet blue! Here's what I created...

To create my card, I used my MISTI to stamp "awesome" down the front in Distress Oxide Blueprint Sketch.

I colored many little Lawn Fawn Yetis before I settled on this one, foam mounting him on the card front.

For the sentiment, I used my Copic B000 to color a scratch strip of cardstock. Then I stamped the "you are". And to complete the sentiment, I layered one black "awesome" word die cut over 4 white ones.

Does anyone else do this? When I choose a image, I stamp it bunches of times so I can have "practice shots" for the coloring. And I still need lots of practice with my coloring, LOL!
Here is the full hop list:
And don't forget to check out our awesome sponsors!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have fun hopping!
