faux watercolor holly

i'm a little in love with the poinsettias by julie ebersole for the essentials by ellen clear stamps mondo poinsettia set.
-i started with a 3.5 x 5 piece of watercolor paper and stamped my sentiment with versafine onyx black.

-to create the holly background, i used the "wrong" side of the stamp on the acrylic block. i inked in with twisted citron distress ink and then added a little bit of peacock feathers on the edge. once my stamp was well-inked, i misted the stamp with water and stamped. the distress ink and mist give a fun watercolored look.
-i used picked raspberry distress ink and an ink blending tool on solar white cardstock. once i had the pink shade i was going for, i stamped the small poinsettia from the essentials by ellen clear stamps mondo poinsettia and die cut with the coordinating die.

-i used copic marker fuchsia rv09 to color clear rhinestones to match my poinsettia but pink rhinestones would work nicely too.

-i used some black thread behind my poinsettia and foam tape to 3d mount it to my card. and i adhered the whole panel to a 3.5 x 5 card.

glittered poinsettia

i might have gone a little crazy with the sparkle on this one but i love glitter!
-i started with a 3.5 x 5 panel of solar white and stamped the pine boughs in 2 shades of green along the top. this was the first time i'd used lawn fawn inks and i really liked them. the colors are pretty and they stamp crisp & evenly.

-after i had my pine boughs, i cut a 3.5 x 5 rectangle of of double-sided adhesive and covered the panel. then i removed the adhesive backing and covered it in glitter!!! i adhered my glittered panel to a 3.5 x 5 solar white card.

-on another piece of solar white i stamped the poinsettia, holly and pinecone from the essentials by ellen clear stamp mistletoe & holly set. i decided to carefully watercolor the poinsettia, since i stamped in with the non-permanent lawn fawn dye inks. and i used delicata for the berries.

-once the stamped images were dry, i die cut them with the coordinating holly & mistletoe dies.

-i stamped a little sentiment from the essentials by ellen clear stamp merry & bright set and hand cut a little fishtail flag end.

-i used glossy accents to adhere my die cuts to the glittered surface. and of course i added a few sequins.

black & white poinsettia

i love white cards and sometimes i really love cards with lots of white space. the essentials by ellen clear stamps mondo poinsettia by julie ebersole is such an unbelievably beautiful set, it doesn't need much else!
-to create this card was so easy! i stamped the small poinsettia from the set twice in versafine oynx black.

-i colored the middles of the flowers with a little bit of lobster red. and while i had lobster red on my craft mat and paint brush, i added some splatter on the edges.

-i stamped the sentiment from the essentials by ellen clear stamps, mistletoe & holly set.

-finally i finished by adding red rhinestones to the poinsettia middles.
