1 stamp, 3 ways - inked autumn plaid

Today I have a second card using the Thankful stamp set from the Essentials by Ellen line, designed by the fabulous Julie Ebersole. This card combines some of my favorite fall colors and wood veneer paper (which I also adore), to create a autumn plaid...
This card was inspired by the awesome work of the London design studio, Raw Edges:
Gorgeous right? The dye brings out the beautiful texture of the wood. I was dying to try and the easiest way to start was with wood veneer paper.

To create this card, start with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of wood paper. Mask off a section with painters tape and use an ink blending tool to color. I started with Distress Ink Spun Sugar.
Let the inked section dry for a few moments and then mask off next section and apply the next color of ink. Repeat.
Then repeat inking on opposite side.

Use MISTI tool to apply a "chain" of leaves across your background.
Adhere wood panel to an A2 card and finally add little sentiment strips.
I love this technique and can't wait to use it again!

Happy Thursday!
