4 ways to use background stamps + new goodies from the stamp market

It's a very poorly kept secret that I'm a pretty huge fan of The Stamp Market's background stamps...mostly because I'm telling everyone, LOL! The latest TSM background stamp, Diamond Tile, is already one of my new favs! And truly background stamps are a really versatile tool to have in your stamping arsenal. Today I'm sharing 4 of my favorite ways to use them...

#1. Background
This might seem obvious but don't we all have stamps that have never seen an ink pad? LOL! Ink that baby up, stamp and use the gorgeous background on a card! For this card, I used Memento Paris Dusk ink on Bazzill Icy Mint cardstock.

#2. DIY Patterned Paper
Create some custom patterned paper by adding color to the background with markers, pencils or watercolor. I stamped again in Paris Dusk but this time on Solar White cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.

#3. Border
Use just a little bit of the stamped background to create a border. I usually stamp the whole background and trim it down into border strips.

#4. Embossed Resist
Stamp & emboss and then add color with ink blending or watercolor. I stamped the Diamond Tile on my favorite cardstock for blending, Smooth Bristol, in embossing ink and then embossed with clear powder. I ink blended Distress Ink Cracked Pistachio on top.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you would like to hop with us, here is the lineup...

These cards are awesome! Love the mix of colors - especially stamping the flower in blue! Not sure how I missed this post back at release time. Now I'm wondering why in the world I didn't get the Bouquet of Kindness floral stamp!
