I've said it before and I'll say it again, I look at all dies and wonder if they can make a good shaker window. As soon as I saw the MFT Trick or Treat die I knew I was going to make this card. There's nothing better than a word shaker!

clean & simple card with mft i chews you

Sometimes I love to get inky trying new cardmaking techniques but a clean & simple critter card never disappoints!

The MFT I Chews You is so cute! I stamped the critters on a white card front, colored with Copics and stamped a sentiment below them.

I love cards like this for practicing my coloring skills. And because I usually make a mistake while coloring, I stamp 2 or 3 cards exactly the same so I can color and not feel too disappointed if I have to start over. The bonus is sometimes they all work and I have extra cards to add to my stash.

mft delightful halloween

Have you had a chance to check out all the new MFT Stamps goodies? One of my latest favorites is from one of their newest line Jenoblade, Delightful Halloween!

Scene cards tend to intimidate me a little so I like to make really simple ones. For this card I masked off the top of a card panel and added Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac with a blending tool.

With the masking tape still in place (and after letting it dry a little bit), I stamped the haunted house & clouds in Distress Oxide Black Soot.

I used a little foam tape to add a stamped, die cut & colored "batty" fox. And then I stamped the sentiment below him. Easy peasy!

mft stamps august 2023 release

The MFT Stamps August 2023 release is packed with stamps & dies sure to be some of your new favorites! I love, love, love so many of the sets and I've been having so much fun creating with them! Before you pop over to the MFT shop to check it out, I've got card to share...

The new Delightful Halloween is very delightful!!! I am so excited for Halloween!!!

For this card I created a really clean & simple shaker. I used the Modern Serif Alphabet to cut the "boo" shaker window. Then I just stamped the ghost & "Happy Halloween" from the Delightful Halloween set around the shaker window.

glossy accents masking + new mft stamps

Masking with Glossy Accents is one of my favorite techniques for cardmaking! Want to see what some Glossy Accents masking looks like with a brand new MFT Stamps set that hits the MFT shop tomorrow?

I started by stamping the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterflies & Blooms set in waterproof black ink on white cardstock.

Then I covered the butterflies in Glossy Accents and used a craft pick to help "erase" any that went outside the lines.

I set the panel aside to dry completely (I left it overnight), and then I blended Distress Oxide inks over the top.

The dried Glossy Accents resists the ink and creates a beautiful effect. See the process in this short video...

diy shaker bits + pretty pink posh blog hop day 2

Now let me show you my first Halloween card of the season (and no surprise, it's a shaker)...

The adorable little images from the Boo to You set looked like they would make perfect little BIG shaker bits!

To make a bunch of shaker bits quickly, I left the dies mostly attached together. Then I die cut them all from a scrap of cardstock to make a stamping jig.

I placed the jig in my MISTI and used it to help arrange the stamps.

Then it was easy to place blank die cuts in the jig, stamp them, pop them out and pop more blank ones in.

A little coloring and voila, cute BIG shaker bits!

The pumpkin die made an adorable shaker window and I couldn't resist adding in the Candy Corn glass shaker beads with the stamped shaker bits.

Finally the little bat from the Halloween Signs set was the perfect finishing touch!
