coloring with alcohol ink

hi! after the busy-busy of the holiday last week i'm excited to spend more time creating this week, including starting my december daily! today i made a little card with the same alcohol ink technique i used last monday...i'm smitten with this faux watercoloring.

-i started with a 3-1/2 x 5 desert storm panel and die cut a circle from the front.

-next i die cut the same circle in the matching spot in a 3-1/2 x 5 solar white card.

-on a small piece of crystal clear plastic, i stamped the cute little tree-topped car from the essentials by ellen 'tis the season set in black stazon.

-next i colored my car in on the backside (side with no stazon) using a pen filled with blending solution and alcohol ink dried in a palette (just put 5-10 drops of alcohol ink into a plastic palette and allow to air dry). and between colors i scribbled on my non-stick craft mat to clean my blending pen.

-on my desert storm panel, i stamped snow flurries from the essentials by ellen holly jolly set in white pigment ink.

-i also stamped my sentiment in white pigment and embossed it with detail white powder on black cardstock.

-to complete my card, i sandwiched my stamped plastic between my solar white card and desert storm panel. i added my sentiment, cut into a strip, and some twine. and finally i added a little stickles beneath the wheels of my car and a few sequins for shine!

thanks for stopping by and happy monday!

xo,
carly
