i just picked up the new distress ink color of the month, wilted violet and it's pretty gorgeous! i really wanted to create a PURPLE card after i opened it and started inking things up. i was also in a very mixed media kinda mood when i created this:
-i started with a 3.5 x 5 panel of ranger watercolor paper and i used a waterbrush to paint messy horizontal stripes in wilted violet distress ink (i'm digging messy horizontal stripes so much right now).
-to create my "flower", i die cut a circle from ranger watercolor paper and stamped the 3 sizes of "scribbley" circles from the essentials by ellen clear stamps bokeh dots set in wilted violet. i added clean color real brush marker violet 080 in the middle & light violet 081 on the outer edge, and blended with water. once it was dry, i stamped the cluster of tiny dots from the bokeh dots set in wilted violet.
-under my stamped and colored bokeh flower, i added a some vellum fringe that i die cut with the paper smooches wise dies, fringe. i also added die cut leaves from the essentials by ellen designer dies mistletoe & holly set that i inked with twisted citron distress ink. and a larger vellum circle.
-i adhered the flower to striped panel and added a sentiment.
